User Interface Overview

  1. Process Filter - A list of the application workflow steps
  2. Ribbon - Various functions broken down in sections such as Segments and Reports
  3. Toolbar - Grid-based functions for filtering, grouping and exporting data
  4. Grid - This displays the list of applications

Process Filter

The Process Filter shows the workflow steps which have been configured for applications. A count of the total number of applications is shown under the first row All Items. In the screenshot above this is 14,470 applications. The number of applications in each process is also shown.

The Process Filter supports alternative options such as filtering by Blueprint. For Help topics on these see Common Grid Functionality: https://support.managementstudio.com/a/solutions/articles/14000127464

Ribbon

The majority of the functions in the Ribbon such as the Segments are common across all the modules. For Help topics on these see Common Grid Functionality: https://support.managementstudio.com/a/solutions/articles/14000127464

Rationalisation Status

This section of the ribbon provides a way to view applications with different Rationalisation Statuses. By default the Applications module will display only Accepted applications. These are the applications which are deemed "in-scope".

Applications with other status settings can be viewed by enabling/disabling Pending, Rationalised and Rejected buttons in the ribbon.

  • Accepted - This status refers to applications which have been designated "in-scope" as part of the work
  • Pending - The application is still waiting to be examined and to have a decision made; typically applications which are discovered via data connectors have their status set to Pending initially
  • Rejected - The application has been manually rejected because it is out-of-scope; this is typical for non-business applications or applications which are no longer supported by the IT team
  • Rationalised - The application has been superseded by a later version of the same application, or a different application altogether

How to View the Pending Applications

To review the applications created by an inventory connector:

  • Click Applications -> Pending
  • Wait a few seconds and the screen will refresh and the Pending applications will be displayed

  • Tip: To view the number of users linked to app application, click User Migrations button in the Link Counts panel in the Ribbon

For information on how to process Pending applications please refer to this article:

How to View Rejected and Rationalised Applications

If you need to review applications which have been Rejected or Rationalised:

  • Wait a few seconds and the screen will refresh. The Rationalised and Rejected applications will be displayed
  • It may be useful to turn off the Accepted applications

The Link Counts section in the Ribbon allow the number of links from each application to the selected item type (such as User Migrations). When enabled, these counts are displayed in a column on the Grid. The example below shows Link Counts enabled for User Migrations:
