When a password is forgotten or needs updating for security reasons, the platform provides a straightforward and secure reset process. This guide walks through how password resets work in ManagementStudio and what to do if you’re an end user or an administrator.


How to Reset Your Password (End Users)

Create a new Password

If you've forgotten your password or simply want to create a new one, ManagementStudio provides a self-service reset option.

  • To reset/create a new password, Click on the person icon located at the top right of the interface
  • Click Account
  • Click 'Send Password Reset Email'
  • The reset password email will be generated and sent

 


Forgotten your password

  • To reset your password if you've forgotten it.
  • Navigate to the official password reset page within your organisation.
  • Copy your ManagementStudio login URL and paste into a web browser e.g. Https://YourServerName/0/account/forgotpassword/
  • Enter your username or email address associated with your account.
  • Select Reset Password.
  • Check your inbox for a reset email.
  • The message contains a secure, time-limited link.
  • Click the link and create a new password following the on screen requirements.
  • Login with your updated credentials.


Admin-Initiated Password Reset

Admins can reset passwords for users who require assistance.

  • Switch to Administration->User Accounts.
  • Highlight and select the User from the grid.
  • Right click and select Reset User Password.
  • Check your inbox for a reset email.
  • The message contains a secure, time-limited link.
  • Click the link and create a new password following the on screen requirements.
  • Login with your updated credentials.
