Introduction

This guide describes two methods for rejecting a specific application for a list of users in ManagementStudio. These steps are useful when you need to remove application links for retired or unsupported applications.

Option A: Reject Application via Application Module

Step 1 – Identify User Migration IDs

  • Navigate to the User Migrations module (1).
  • Select and highlight the required users in the grid (2).
  • Click Copy (3).
  • Click Select None (4).
  • Ensure the Migration ID (5) column is selected.
  • Click Copy (6) again.

The Migration IDs for the selected users are now copied to your clipboard.

  • Open a blank Excel file.
  • Paste (Ctrl+V) the Migration IDs (1) into a cell.

  • Select the pasted IDs and click Copy.
  • Right-click a new cell, then select Paste SpecialTranspose (T) (2) to arrange IDs horizontally as needed.
  • Copy the transposed IDs for use in the next step.

  • Switch to the Applications module (1).
  • Select the application you wish to reject for the users in the main grid (2).
  • Click Show details panel (3).
  • Select the Users tab (4) to display all users currently linked to the application.

  • In the Search Grid, paste the Migration IDs (1).
  • The grid will now filter to show only the users associated with those IDs (2).

  • Click Select All.
  • Right-click and select RejectThis Application link to selected...User Migrations.
  • Click Reject Links.

You will see a confirmation message at the bottom of the screen indicating how many links were rejected.

Note: You must have appropriate permissions to use the Reject Links action.

Option B: Reject/Remove Application

  • Navigate to the User Migrations module (1).
  • Select and highlight the required users (2) in the grid.
  • Click Datamining Report (3).

  • Click Add Reporting Tier (1) and select Applications (2). This displays all applications associated with the selected users.

  • Filter the report using the desired application’s App ID column.

  • Select all users in the grid (1).
  • Right-click and select: User Migrations (2)Links (3) → Remove Links (4)To Selected Applications (5).

  • Select Partial Link (1).
  • Type Remove to confirm the action (2).
  • Click Remove (3) to remove the link or Reject to reject the link.

A message at the bottom of the screen will display the number of links rejected.

Remove

Selecting Remove deletes the link between the items for now. This change is temporary. When the system next runs a sync, the link will be created again if the underlying data still matches.

Reject

Selecting Reject permanently blocks the link. This prevents the system from recreating the connection during any future syncs, even if the items continue to match.
